Pregnancy Must Haves

Pregnancy Must Haves
After applying the sheep serum, I love using this belly oil in the morning. It absorbs quickly, so I finish getting dressed before putting on my top.

The reviews of this serum are mind-blowing so of course with it also being non-toxic (trust me I looked up ingredients one by one) I knew I needed it. I apply the serum morning and night, and then the balms at night time too.

I don’t think I could live without this pillow. I’m not a side sleeper naturally, and this has helped a lot. I travel with it as well (yes, I’m on the plane with my pregnancy pillow out, and I’m passed the f*ck out). It also doesn’t take up half the bed which is great, doubles as a pillow to boost me up when I’m sitting in bed in the morning, and can be used as a nursing pillow.

I'm on a mission to look after my physical body as much as possible. So I’m not just working out daily and stretching, I’m also making sure my lymphatic system is being supported. I miss my infrared saunas so much, so I’ve been making a real effort to dry brush about every second day. I also dry brush my belly to help my stretching skin. I really work the brush around the back of my thighs to reduce any new pregnancy cellulite and around my inner thighs too. Just make sure you open your lymph nodes beforehand.

Gelatin and Collagen
Preventing stretch marks isn’t just about the creams and lotions. It’s also about what you put inside your body. Your uterus contains 800% more collagen at the end of your pregnancy than at the start and there's no way your body can make that much without some support (or it taking away from your skin elasticity). So I'm supporting my body by making sure that at least every second day, I'm purposely eating gelatin or collagen. I'm either making gelatin gummies and having one of those, or I'm adding collagen to my tea, a cup of bone broth, roasting a chicken and eating all the skin, or slow-cooked meats (and having lots of the juice!).

Okay, if you've also had the 'pregnancy congestion', then you KNOW THE PAIN. You struggle to breathe, always having to blow your nose and the whole thing is just a pain. My hair colorist told me about these nose strips that helped her so much during her pregnancy, and I'm OBSESSED. If it didn't look weird, I'd wear them on client calls and in public because they've helped me that much. My sleep is getting worse as I'm just uncomfortable, and I swear being able to breathe properly again has helped me feel way more rested getting up in the morning, even if I've been tossing and turning all night.

On the note of breathing and nose strips, I've also been using mouth tape as well. I look crazy going to sleep but I don't give a f*ck because it DRASTICALLY helped me. I have my nose strip on, my Skinny Confidential mouth tape, and I'm sleeping like a fricken LOG. Until Jelly starts barking in the middle of the night and then I'm ripping it up to tell him to shut up lol.

Anyway, your breathing really does influence the quality of your sleep and I cannot tell you how much being tapped up has helped me with the already semi-shitty pregnancy sleep. Also, I do not want to lose my jawline because pregnancy has made me a mouth breather. So for the time being, Hal is kissing my neck when he comes to bed and not my tapped-up lips.

EMF Blankets.
I have two EMF blankets, one that stays on the sofa downstairs and one that stays upstairs in our bedroom so that when I'm using my laptop, I'm protecting the baby. One is from here and one is from here.

When I got this box in the mail, I cried. How beautiful is it to receive a gift of pure replenishment for yourself ahead of time? Don't wait until you're depleted post-partum to buy these things ... get it now. I'm super into Traditional Chinese Medicine, and whilst I won't be following a strict 40-day plan after the baby is here, I want to lean on some of the principles like using herbs to heal.
