Breadwinner Burnout: Why High-Achieving Women Can't Stop Controlling Everything
She runs a company with a team of forty, and she couldn't let her assistant book a flight without re-reading the confirmation herself at 11pm.
My client told me this in a session...half laughing, half wrung out...because she knew exactly how it sounded as soon as she said it out loud. She was like, "Oh yeah, okay, I see the pattern here" lol.
This is a woman who negotiates with people ten times her size and doesn't blink. And there she was, checking a booking someone else who is BEING PAID TO DO THIS had already handled. Why?
Well, because just like you, she felt like if she wasn't the one doing it all, something would fall through the cracks.
She couldn't really trust someone else, could she? Not when she'd been let down one too many times.
(I dive deeper into this in this juicy podcast episode. It's a must-listen if you relate!)
I knew her, because I used to be her.
I used to think the flex WAS the controlling, the double-checking, and the doing-it-all-myself. Yet that was the thing that nearly cost me my left leg in a bad ski accident.
But letting go of that wasn't just an "edge"; it felt like f*cking death in my body. It felt like I could lose EVERYTHING I'd worked so hard for literally in the blink of an eye.
Which is why, when a woman like my old self hears "soften into your feminine," what she actually hears is: become passive, become someone who gets walked over and taken less seriously.
And so of COURSE you choose to stay frazzled and in control over that every single time.
BUT that level of full-body exhaustion that comes through you at 8pm every night isn't just "part of being ambitious."
-
It's the cost of you living out of alignment with your womanhood.
-
It's the cost of feeling like it's only safe when you're holding everything and then some.
-
It's the cost of actually not feeling inherently safe to embody powerful feminine leadership.
I know you want to make more money without feeling like you'll be miserable, burnt out, and prematurely aging in the process.
You want to make more money and feel like you can have a slow weekend.
Not like you kill yourself 365 days of the year to have 1 week off in Europe, where you're barely off because all you can think about is work and putting out fires as soon as you get back.
Am I right or am I right??
This is why I've built my new signature container: Soft & Ambitious. So you can become your wealthiest and healthiest self without sacrificing your softness.
This is going to heal:
-
what's underneath the energetic weight that won't budge,
-
the constant need to achieve to feel worthy,
-
the money blocks,
-
the fear of going to your next level,
-
the people-pleasing that's making you literally sick, and
-
the hyper-productivity that's actually a trauma response.
You are about to have success and slow mornings. An overflow of money and feeling deeply safe in your body. An increase in creativity/ambition and safety to slow down and rest.
Over 9 months, you will amplify your success with ease and feel joy whilst doing it.
