The Support System Behind Me as a Mum, CEO, and Female Breadwinner

The Support System Behind Me as a Mum, CEO, and Female Breadwinner

Never in the history of womanhood has there been such a societal expectation for women to do everything themselves, and that there is some kind of weakness if you have help or are asking for help. But there is no "badge of honour" for doing everything by yourself. All that results in is you being a miserable, bitter, and angry mother and lover.

(I also have a podcast episode in which I talked about my postpartum help, so if you are coming up to that season or currently in that season of early postpartum, I highly recommend giving it a listen!) ↓

(And if you're a mumma in London, the UK or anywhere in Europe, keep reading to the end. I have something really special in the works for you!)

THE MYH TEAM

I have a marketing manager, marketing assistant, CPO, COO, CFO, operations assistant, and customer service support. Basically, we ensure we provide excellent customer service, and we're actively working (probs will always be) on taking more and more off my plate.

I'm not just doing client sessions all day. Part of running my own business means I'm doing CEO and founder tasks. I'm also the CMO. So I'm writing content (I do every IG post and email myself), sales pages, coming up with ideas, replying to clients in Telegram, having sessions, recording podcasts, doing interviews, prepping for interviews, replying to the team, working on program delivery, prepping for client sessions and then yes, of course, doing the client sessions (my fave part).

HOUSE CLEANERS

They come and actually clean the house—mop, vacuum, change the sheets, clean the oven. All that kind of stuff.

HOUSEKEEPER

Our housekeeper, Laura, does the stuff the cleaners don't. She organises, cleans out the fridge, does the stuff I don't even know needs to get done or how to do (like the filter in the washing machine... only found out she did this like a month ago lol), organising cupboards, unpacking suitcases, helping with Tripp organisation, putting away holiday decorations, etc. Basically she'll do ANYTHING that helps us. She even came to watch Tripp for a few hours the other week when our nanny called in sick last minute.

DOG GROOMERS

We have a mobile dog groomer that comes to us and does all 3 dogs at once. My time is not best spent trying to wash dogs. Also IDK how to brush their teeth and clip their nails? Hire the experts. (If you live in Atlanta, get Woofies North Atlanta.)

GROCERY DELIVERY

I love to cook, so I don't want to be hiring a chef, but I have a home system that is fully built out in Notion (HER Year ladies, make sure you're using your meal plans, my menu suggestions, and the planning systems!), and I plan out our meals weekly and do grocery deliveries from Whole Foods, Misfits, and Thrive to save time and decision-making.

NANNY

It was really important for me to have our son be at home all day and have that one-on-one attention at a young age. This also means I don't have to worry about daycare not letting him in if he is sick, or him going through a sleep regression and not getting that extra level of care. I don't even know what happens at a daycare if your baby is not a good sleeper like ours???

FAMILY

I feel really blessed that my in-laws live 10 minutes away from us, and that I have active, healthy parents who can meet us in Europe or fly to the US from Australia multiple times a year. Both my parents and my husband's parents are incredibly helpful, and I truly believe you are living a different kind of parenthood if you don't have an extra set of hands around. I'm aware that not everybody's family is close by (I mean, my whole family isn't), or it's just not even worth having a step in to help because they aren't helpful (to say it nicely).

We've been trained that we can do it all ourselves. That asking for help is weak. That receiving makes us a failure. That if we couldn't do it alone, we weren't really doing it. We trained ourselves into doing everything, and we trained the people around us out of stepping up.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it a million more times: We are meant to be in community, especially as women, and we were never meant to mother alone.

So mummas, if you are in Europe—London, the UK, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, France, or anywhere around there—I have something exciting in the works for you!

I am hosting a small, intimate mother's lunch for ambitious and high-achieving mummas in London this December.

My intention with this lunch is truly just to create community. It's about bringing other mums who are just like you together, where you don't feel judged and where you feel like motherhood truly can be an expansive experience.

And for a few hours in this one room...

  • We get to connect,

  • We get to see each other,

  • We get to hold each other,

  • We get to network,

  • We get to tap into how motherhood expands us—for our career, love life, motherhood, health, all of it.

Tickets will be very limited so we can actually talk to each other (anyone else been to an event and you leave not even knowing anyone's name!? 🙃...this isn't that!!).

Tickets will be roughly $150 USD, and that will cover everything, including your food. Make sure you join the waitlist because they'll get first access when the tickets are live!

And while this is called a Mother’s Lunch and the topic of motherhood will be the focal point, you can attend even if you’re not a mother. If you’re planning to be a mom in the future and want to soak in the expansive motherhood community vibes, you’re more than welcome to come as well!

I'm seriously SO EXCITED for this, and I hope to see you there, London ladies!!!
