Hilary Duff's Comeback Is the Lesson Every Ambitious Mum Needs to Hear

We're so often told not to give up our career...

  • “Don't go be a mum for a few years and think you’ll have your job waiting for you when you're back,"

  • "That's career suicide,"

  • "You worked so hard, you can't give up now."

And it completely ignores the most important part of the conversation... ALIGNMENT and what FEELS GOOD.

In case you didn't know, a successful job that makes you feel like, "Is this it?" isn't the goal.

Hilary Duff went away for about 10 years because what felt in alignment with her in that season of life was to be fully devoted to motherhood. GOOD ON HER.

And she hasn't just come back to people being like, "Oh cool, Hilary Duff released an album."

She came back with a quantum leap.

She came back with mums in school pick-up lines fighting for their lives to get a ticket.

She came back with women crying at her concert.

She has made a MOVEMENT. She is HEALING a whole generation of women who are desperate to go back to simpler, easier, and more fun times.

She could have done both—babies and music at the same time for fear of missing out. And her results could have been so-so in both areas. But instead she trusted that she could never fall behind in what's meant for her when she's following her heart.

And LOOK AT HER NOW... HOT and seriously radiant!!

This is a lesson for all the mummas out there who feel that slowing down will cost them their dreams. It's not. It just brings more clarity.

And when you come back, you come back stronger than ever because it's IN ALIGNMENT.

(Also maternity leave in the US... Or rather lack of... Makes my blood boil. I'm well aware of the issues, and this just exacerbates PPD in my opinion. Anyway, a post for another time.)

So let yourself slow down to speed up. Because whilst it may feel like you’re falling behind... That’s your ego.

Being in alignment always leads to a quantum leap.

And I believe that if Hilary had tried to do both, she wouldn't be having the success she has now. But by following her heart, she's had 10x the success with this comeback and, most importantly... the joy along the way.

And yes. You need to go see her live because it's THERAPEUTIC.
