Why I Refuse to Use AI to Write My Content (And Why It's Actually Been Good for My Business)

Call me old-fashioned, and maybe in some ways we will fall behind the competitors... But you know, I also don’t buy into that.

The reality is that whilst my team and I use AI to streamline systems (so, for example, AI software is what sends you your contract once you've joined a container with me, or when you comment a word on my IG post, AI sends you the link, etc.), I just cannot get on board with using AI to write my content. (Even when every business container I’m in is telling me to do so to save me time.)

I mean, I can’t even get a professional, trained copywriter HUMAN to sound like me...so why in God’s name would a robot be able to do my job?

Plus, I don’t find it time-saving as I think in the long term, it costs too much trust when your human voice isn’t what people are reading.

I want to share a very transparent way we are committed to using AI in this company We're actually working as a team right now to get REALLY crystal clear on our detailed AI policy and what we will/will not allow moving forward... being intentional about this is going to be key in standing out as AI continues to weave its way into every aspect of our lives—it truly makes me sick to even think about...more to come on this.

AI has absolutely no place when it comes to writing our content, making launch plans, writing emails for customer service, writing sales pages, writing podcast notes, masterclasses, writing notes for Zoom calls where I am taking people through either concepts or modalities.

I worked my arse off over all these years to come up with my own proprietary modalities, systems, and frameworks—and I'm damn proud of that.

To me, if you are using AI to write your content, you’re just losing my trust.

I get that people are busy…but my concern is that the more that we add AI, it’s not gonna bring more freedom to our days because our nervous system won’t change with productivity. So we’ll just keep adding more onto our plates, increasing our mental load.

(I actually wrote a blog post series with Olivia about this awhile back...linking Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 so you can read more about this if you want to.)

I want you to feel me in my content. I want you to know my energy. And I want you to trust that I actually know how to do my job, and in my opinion, using AI to write content actually just takes longer for me because it’s SO BAD. So that’s another reason why I refuse to use it.

Look, I’ve tried to get on board because I understand the power of being an early adopter so that you don’t get "left behind." And as a business owner, it’s really important to stay open-minded when new things come into the world so that you don’t fall behind and have people get a competitive advantage over you.

But one of my number one values is integrity, along with authenticity. And I do not feel that I am in integrity or being authentic if I am using any form of AI to write my content/do my job.

Olivia (my CPO) and I have talked about this extensively, and the only place that AI is in our business is when it comes to operations. Even then, we have humans doing their jobs and triple-checking what AI has auto-completed because it often comes with MANY errors.

I’m also committed to not just firing my team because AI can do it instead, but to continue to work with and hire people. Because, as Dr. Robbie said in The Pitt, "intuition and gut feeling are not something that AI has."

I truly believe that business owners who aren’t using AI to write content will be standing out this year and beyond.

I don't care about pumping out more content if it costs me consumers' trust and my revenue. And I’m fully trusting my intuition with this one.

This year and beyond, you can rest assured that my intuition is in the driver's seat. I’m making changes to the business this year (had the motherhood identity shift I thought I'd avoided, lol, you can listen to my podcast about that HERE), and my intuition is what the whole team is trusting. Even if or when it doesn’t make sense.

Any random moves I make? Intuition. Weird launch? Intuition. Pop-up thing? Intuition. Investment increase? Intuition. The business shifting? Intuition.

So, what’s your take? What are your thoughts, and what are you committed to so that you don't let AI fry your creative muscles and make your brain turn to mush because you no longer know how to think for yourself and trust your own inner wisdom? And/or what DO you use it for? Genuinely curious.
